TECHNICAL REPORTS
STACS is very proud to have the STACS Blockchain deployed and tested in an on-premise, production environment on five bare-metal Dell servers with a pre-optimized baseline steady-state performance of 4,527 Transactions Per Second (TPS). The STACS Blockchain was also able to maintain such TPS during a stress test with over 40 million transactions in the blockchain state. We also achieved all key objectives in various scenarios that we set out for our test, and are happy to report that in all production test cases and pessimistic scenarios, the STACS Blockchain was still able to achieve a minimum of 4,100 TPS and is ready for any production workloads even without further optimization. We are grateful to Dell for partnering us in this stress test.

The STACS Solutions Engineering team has been building modern applications on the cloud and we faced many challenges ranging from minimizing application downtime to application scalability. As we continue to deliver new product features and bug fixes, we have fine-tuned our process on the AWS cloud to take advantage of managed services to reduce dedicated manpower for DevOps and to enable rapid deployment from code to production. In this article, we would like to share our experience and know-how setting up a fully automated Continuous Delivery workflow on the AWS cloud.

As a FinTech startup, we need to reliably deliver new product features and bug fixes to our clients rapidly and in a scalable manner while fully maximizing our technical talents and resources within the STACS Solutions Engineering team. While we already have Continuous Integration in place to ensure we spend as little time as possible on fixing code conflicts, we go one step further to implement Continuous Delivery as it allows us to achieve a low Turn-Around-Time (TAT) for responding to bug fixes and software patches. To that end, we have automated our entire deployment process that completes the full software cycle from source code to full deployment on multiple environments.

The STACS Solutions Engineering team set out to implement an authentication and authorization module that would secure all application logins and API access in a secured, scalable, and cost-effective manner. This module will also need to support SAML integration with Enterprise Identity Providers with the ability to support role-based access control to restrict what each user can see or access. With the above requirements in mind, we decided to use AWS Cognito to handle the authentication while the authorization requires some custom work to implement.

The STACS Solutions Engineering team has designed and implemented an end-to-end Automated Email Processing Service on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud. The live-solution automates the processing of email requests sent by users and delivers back results within seconds, while being able to scale upwards to support multiple email requests with minimal cost.
